Unable to Detect Own Wi-Fi Signal During Network Configuration?

During Wi-Fi network setup, users are unable to connect to their own Wi-Fi signal or fail to find their own Wi-Fi signal in the Wireless List.

Cause Analysis

The print server supports only the 2.4 GHz frequency band. If the router’s Wi-Fi name is set to broadcast on the 5 GHz band, the print server will not be able to detect it.

Resolution Steps:

  1. Verify Wi-Fi Settings: Ensure your Wi-Fi router is set to broadcast at 2.4 GH. Many routers are dual-band and may also operate at 5 GHz, which is not compatible with the print server.
  2. Adjust Router Settings: If the Wi-Fi network is set to use the 5 GHz band, you will need to adjust the router settings to use the 2.4 GHz band or ensure both frequencies are available separately
    • Refer to your router official documentation for instructions on how to disable dual-band settings and setup distinct networks for each frequency.
  3. Ensure Network Visibility: Confirm that the Wi-Fi network is not set to hidden. Hidden networks do not broadcast their network name (SSID), you need to disable the router’s Wi-Fi hiding feature.
